Compare the2027 BMW iX3 VS 2027 Genesis GV60

The BMW iX3 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The GV60 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the iX3. But it costs extra on the GV60.

The BMW iX3’s optional Surround View has integrated front and rear camera washers, ensuring clear, all-weather visibility without the need for manual cleaning. In contrast, the Genesis GV60 lacks camera washers, requiring you to manually clean the cameras for optimal performance.

Both the iX3 and the GV60 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The iX3’s corrosion warranty is 5 years longer than the GV60’s (12 vs. 7 years).

There are over 72 percent more BMW dealers than there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the iX3’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that BMW vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. J.D. Power ranks BMW above average in long-term dependability. With 24 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Genesis is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that BMW vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks BMW 16 places higher in reliability than Genesis.

The iX3’s electric motors produces 238 more horsepower (463 vs. 225) and 218 lbs.-ft. more torque (476 vs. 258) than the GV60’s standard electric motor. The iX3’s electric motors produces 149 more horsepower (463 vs. 314) and 30 lbs.-ft. more torque (476 vs. 446) than the GV60’s optional electric motors.

The iX3’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the GV60 are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the iX3 has larger standard tires than the GV60 (255/45R20 vs. 235/55R19).

The iX3’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GV60’s standard 55 series tires. The iX3’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the GV60 Magma’s 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the iX3 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the GV60. The iX3’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels on the GV60 Magma.

The iX3 has 1.6 inches more front headroom, 1.3 inches more front shoulder room, .4 inches more rear headroom and 1.3 inches more rear shoulder room than the GV60.

The iX3 has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the GV60 with its rear seat up (31.4 vs. 24 cubic feet). The iX3 has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the GV60 with its rear seat folded (65 vs. 54.7 cubic feet).

The iX3’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the GV60’s (4400 vs. 2000 pounds).

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the GV60 Prestige/Magma, the iX3 has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, power steering assist, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The iX3’s standard Comfort Access allows you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from pocket or purse. Proximity Key standard on the GV60 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear doors.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the iX3 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The GV60 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the iX3 has a standard rear wiper. The GV60 doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The iX3 offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the GV60.
